Dawn Adams is a trained Chaplain, accredited through Chaplaincy Australia and is delighted to be serving as a 'minister on the field' at a local Primary school close to Werribee Baptist Church.
In her Chaplaincy role, Dawn provides a safe, confidential and caring environment for staff, students and parents from within the Wyndham Park community to share their feelings and work through life issues. Offering support and a listening ear and assisting in times of need or in a crisis is such an honour and a privilege and Werribee Baptist Church are delighted to be able to bring this caring ministry into this environment.
As a church we have volunteered within this school for around 7 years ... firstly by introducing the World Vision Kid's Hope Mentoring Program where around 14 adults meet one on one with a student for one hour each week throughout the school term. This program is very highly regarded within the school. Then in working with the Red Cross and providing volunteers to run a breakfast program in the school 3 mornings each week for those students who might otherwise go hungry.
We are so blessed and delighted to have been able to build this bridge into our local community and we certainly love being part of the life of Wyndham Park Primary School in this way.
