WBC Playgroups are a place where parents/carers and children from all over the community are welcomed together to spend quality time with each other. For the children it is an exciting place to encounter new experiences in a fun environment that is safe, stimulating and age appropriate.
Parents and carers are able to gather together over a cuppa, form great friendships and provide support for one another during this stage of parenting and caring for young children.
We currently run several sessions each week, lead by an enthusiastic team of Christian volunteers and greatly supported by the wider church community.
Our playgroup program is lightly structured with a different theme to focus on each term. We have craft activities and inside play, stories and singing. We then have snack time and outside play to encourage development of the whole child. We like to include some Christian content in our program and say grace before snack time. During the session parents and carers are encouraged to be actively involved with their children; assisting them with craft activities and participating in mat time.
WBC have been running playgroups since 1979 and have long established a good reputation in the community for the quality playgroups it runs.
